Praise for Return to Sandy Creek

Return to Sandy Creek is an absorbing tale of the settlement of Central Texas. The main characters are good honest folks whose situations were realistically portrayed. I especially appreciated the perspective of of the descendants of the characters whom I'd grown to love towards the end of the book. I would recommend this volume to mature middle school or high school students to flesh out their understanding of Texas history, although as an adult, I thoroughly enjoyed it and learned a lot.     --Peggy Kelsey

Return To Sandy Creek is a good read about pioneers who dream of claiming a better life for themselves and their families. Taking the risk of settling in the young state of Texas, Johanna, Guenther, B.G., Eli, Sara, and Dodge, among others meet hardship, disappointment and change with strength of character and find a spirit of hope that runs deep in our Texas heritage. I hated the book to end as I enjoyed riding the trails in familiar territories. --Amazon Review

Molly, I loved your book. So much history brought to life. Keep telling those stories. --Vicki

Return to Sandy Creek brought back many family memories that I have either
lived or heard about.  I am a native Texan and have made many road trips to
San Angelo throughout the years.  I can relate to many of the characters,
locations and stories in Molly Bickle Cardwell's book.    --Barbara

I was caught up in the lives of the different characters and couldn't wait to read the next chapter as each character developed.  At the end of the book I was left wanting more, which is a good thing.  The historical references throughout the book were great.  I've read lots of novels through the years and many of them were historical novels, which were my favorite.  I have to tell you that your book is as good as any I have ever read.     --Evanita B.

Just finished reading Return to Sandy Creek and was very impressed with it. I am a genealogist and have lived in and around San Angelo all of my life.  This also is so real to me and reminds me of so many of the stories that my grandfather told me as a child.  I love stories that tell of the early history of our great state of Texas and especially the ones about the part of the state that I am familiar with.  Many of my ancestors settled in Texas before it became a state so this is the kind of book that most interests me and is the best that I have read.  Hopefully Mrs.Cardwell will add more books soon.     --Dorthy

Return To Sandy Creek is an awesome book.  I loved the strong women with hands and backs of steel but with hearts as soft as rose petals.     --Betty H.

By the end of the book I fell for it even more. --KK

In some chapters I felt like I was back on the streets of Galveston. --
Rita
